SANUR, BALI, INDONESIA (January 27-28, 2026) – The legendary reef breaks of Sanur delivered a spectacular conclusion to the Magic Shootout 2026. Over two days of elite competition, Indonesia’s premier surfing talent battled through “firing” conditions at Sindhu Beach, marking a high point in the 2026 Boardriders event in Bali.
The event, hosted by the Sanur Middle Coast Boardriders, showcased the depth of Bali’s surfing heritage, from high-flying groms to top professional level. With clean, heavy sets rolling through the Sanur Middle Coast, the judging panel saw some of the highest heat totals of the season, fueled by critical rail-to-rail transitions and deep tube rides.

Division Highlights & Results
Open Men: The Battle of the Heavyweights The Open Men’s final was a masterclass. Raul Bormann claimed the top spot in a nail-biting final, utilizing his top score of the heat 7-point ride to leapfrog the competition. His clinical approach to the fast Sanur rights proved unbeatable.

- Winner: Raul Bormann (Brazil)
- Runner-up: I Nyoman “Mega” Artana (Kuta)
Open Women: Power and Grace The Women’s division saw a blend of international experience and local flair. Jasmine Studer dominated the final, finding the longest walls of the morning to secure her victory with a combined heat score of 13.17.

- Runner-up: Kailani Johnson (Legian)
Junior (U18): The Next Generation The Under-18 division proved that the future of Asian surfing is in capable hands. Muhammad Satrio took full advantage of his threading a technical air game that drew the loudest cheers of the day from the Sindhu Beach crowd.

A Community Triumph
Beyond the competition, the Magic Shootout 2026 was a celebration of the Sanur community. The event village at Sindhu Beach featured beach cleaning, local vendors, and a “support local” vibe that underscored the importance of boardrider clubs in fostering regional talent.
