The 14th annual Taiwan Open of Surfing QS 5000 kicks off tomorrow in Taitung County, Taiwan! Over 150 of Asia Pacific’s most promising surfers have arrived at the playful waves of Jinzun Harbor, all vying for valuable points towards the 2025 WSL Challenger Series.

This co-sanctioned event between the Australia/Oceania and Asia regions boasts a truly international field. Fresh off victories at the Philippines’ Siargao International Surfing Cup, Australian duo Oscar Berry and Sierra Kerr will be crowd favorites. However, they face fierce competition from reigning champions Dakoda Walters (AUS) and Sara Wakita (JPN), who consistently excel at Jinzun Harbor.

“We’re thrilled with the incredible talent assembled here,” says WSL APAC Tour Manager Ty Sorati. “Jinzun Harbor offers high-performance waves, and with this level of skill, we’re in for an epic week!”

The forecast promises fun waves and ideal conditions for the first half of the event, with a solid swell expected for the final days. Look for the competition to commence tomorrow morning at Jinzun Harbor.
